This was an outdoor session around sunset time at Princess Point in Hamilton. Princess Point is like a tiny luscious island when you pass by it from the highway. I feel like every Hamiltonian would know. When my family and I moved to Hamilton, it was one of the locations I wanted to check out immediately. And it makes sense because it is very popular with photographers. When I was scouting the area, I first went in the morning and boy was the sun super harsh. I knew it wouldn’t work for the spots that I wanted for my session. So the session took place one Friday evening in June.

Happy : Cheryl was the first ever person to connect with me because of my faith. I know God was talking to me through her. I was reminded of the connections I am able to afford through photography. And that the measure of success is beyond numbers, and more about your purpose.

Sentimental : I remember how conversations usually are around birthdays. It somehow goes like “oh wow you’re old“ OR “you’re not getting any younger“. These are all true. But another perspective I always have to remind myself is that, “wow you got to that age“ and “God blessed you with all these years“. Because in reality, not everyone will get to this age. Tomorrow is not promised, but is a gift.

Joyful : I usually photograph milestone sessions for one year olds. I mean it might be more for parents more than the child? It’s a marker for the family for surviving and celebrating the year they had together. It’s a big accomplishment. But so is three decades here on Earth. I was feeling all the joy from this session as God blessed us with super strong winds that only made the photos look SO ethereal. You will know what I am talking about once you see how God made the dress flew. Enjoy!
