Newborn Photography Burlington Studio Sessions at The Nook
I often get asked where newborn photography sessions can take place. Here are the most common types of locations (hint highlight today is one located in Burlington!) : 1.) inside a studio; 2.) at home; and 3.) outdoor (if the weather permits for summer, spring and early fall babies). In today’s post I will highlight a studio newborn session in one of two natural light studios that I work at. Today we will highlight the session taken inside a natural light studio in Burlington. Next week it will be the Hamilton studio.
For studio newborn photography in Burlington, my favourite is The Nook Studio. For any full sessions with Ericka Ana Photography, studio use is complimentary 🙂 The Nook is a natural light studio with white walls and neutral overall aesthetics. The studio complements my light and airy style. You know the look and feel you see from my Instagram.
There are no beds in the studio close to the window so the shots are either standing or sitting on the floor or couch. You will see the photos below! For the solo shots of the baby, we use a Moses basket to get those simple and timeless portraits of your newborn. The studio is situated inside a one story building in a plaza. There is ample space for parking. It is very easy to find and these are only part of the reasons why it is my top 1 studio location for any Newborn Photography Burlington Sessions.
3 things I like about studio newborn photography Burlington sessions done at The Nook :
If you had the chance to see my newborn portfolio, you can see that it is white and bright. This is possible through 3 things that we can choose and plan for : 1. Wardrobe; 2. Editing and 3. Location (light situation). What is the light situation at The Nook? Because of the white walls, it automatically bounces light off well subjects. The walls provide us with a simple backdrop and allows us to focus the portrait on you, your baby, your family’s connection.
I am a natural light photographer and the short explanation on why that is, is because I want to focus on you when I do your session. I avoid flash, and props so I am able to capture the connection and personality of the family. I have shot both morning and afternoon at The Nook and because of their tall windows with sheer curtains, both times, the lighting was perfection.
Since it is located in a one story building, there are no stairs involved. This is especially good and helpful for families with young kids and newborn (no stairs!!). It is also very clean inside the studio. Since the studio caters to family photography, the furniture selected by the owners is thoughtful and safe for kids. The studio is also big enough to have a designated “waiting area” where family members can comfortably sit while they wait for their turn to be photographed. Bonus point : there’s coffee shop waiting for you to pick up your treats!
